Data Buzz is the data contribution client application. The user interface of a WASP3D scene created in the Drone Designer (for basic data driven graphics) is available for the non-design personnel to enter/modify the data fields and post them to a playlist. Data Buzz is an operational template for playlist creation, program creation and custom theme creation. It provides the news desk editor/ journalists the flexibility to manually populate the data entry form with data such as name, headlines, breaking news etc. User also has the real-time data preview option available. Alternatively, for television stations that need custom broadcast applications involving complex data graphics, the user can create data entry interface in the Comb Builder module. An ActiveX MOS version of the data-entry client is available for integration with the newsroom system.
STING On-Air is the graphics delivery (playout) application. Designed for performance, the Sting on-air delivers the graphics in two modes: automated triggering of graphics for unattended operations and manual triggering for production control based delivery. In the manual mode, the playout component recognizes the user actions defined (pause-points, continue, play etc.) and waits for the user decision to proceed.
The On-Air Playout consists of the Sting On-Air server and the Sting On-Air client. The Sting On-Air server is the real-time rendering engine that generates the graphics as an HD/SD, video I/O (key and fill). The Sting On-Air client is the controlling application of the server. In a networked WASP3D architecture, users have the flexibility to control and playout graphics to any of the Sting Servers on the network. Optionally multiple users can trigger graphics on a single WASP3D server simultaneously
The WASP Asset eXchange (WAX) is a tool designed for sharing, managing and distribution of media assets across local and remote locations. WAX provides flexibility to centralize high-end graphics in one location or follow a distributed model, where all stations feed into a big basket of graphics, and everyone can view these. The eXchange provides MOS [Media Object Server]-compliant software plug-ins that integrate with most of the newsroom systems like ENPS, iNews, NorCom, Octopus, allowing journalists and producers to access news, images and graphics elements; quickly create graphics using templates and then drag and drop them into the news rundown. The templates and high-resolution images will be stored on local servers as part of a distributed archiving and database system.
The exchange streamlines the process of data cataloguing and storage - this translates to easier access and distribution of assets. It provides users the flexibility to search for assets based on metadata and comes with a thumbnail view of media assets for enhanced pictorial view and easy navigation.
The easy to use drag and drop feature allows the user to import assets to all WASP3D modules (Drone designer, Data Buzz and other WASP3D modules).WAX supports almost all formats including graphics and video file formats like TARGA, BMP, JPEG, PNG, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, IMX, DV25, DV50, DVCPro, AVI, MOV, WMV, Quicktime, AI, SWF, H.264 to name a few.
Bee Keeper is an automation control application for carrying out set of instructions in WASP3D. It is a gateway that provides a standardized medium for communication between WASP3D and various newsroom and production automation systems. Televisions stations are often challenged by inability of these applications to communicate with networked workflows and at times find it difficult to share the metadata properly.
Bee Keeper is a vendor agnostic application developed for seamless integration of WASP3D workflow with production automation and news room control systems (NRCS) such as Aveco, B4M, Dalet, enps, Harris D series, iNews, Norcom, Octopus, Omnibus or any other third party application.
Bee Keeper connects all of the participating systems to WASP3D system. It is configured with dual IP interfaces and provides interface between the automation systems and WASP3D to interact with each other through communication protocols like MOS, GPI, TCP-IP and other standard integration protocols.
With Bee Keeper, one gets the flexibility and control over all external triggers that can be automated. Tight integration with Bee Keeper enables automation systems to control all the features of Sting Client: on-air playout module of WASP3D. User also gets an option of pushing and controlling all or selective content in multiple or one channel by a single click. It allows complete control on graphics playout therefore, acting as a backup playout application.

WASPi Mimosa is an application that allows designers to create interactive 3D graphics that can be displayed on a touch screen and can be controlled by the anchor/presenter. It allows the user to present the content (zoom, pan, stretch, spin) at the touch of fingers. For creating interactive content, designers can create various objects and animation inside the scene and mark them as 'Interactive Enabled' to allow various objects related operations to be performed on it from the WASPi Mimosa application. The designer can also bind various activities like an animation play or pause to be performed when a specific gesture is performed on a specified object.WASPi Mimosa has the following options in the runtime:
- Camera Options: This allows the user to move the viewing camera to zoom, pan or rotate across the scene.
- Object Actions: These are various actions which can be done on individual items in the scene. These include translation, rotation or scaling operations. When designing the scene in the WASP3D Drone Designer, the designer can lock objects to not animate at all or can specify only the operations permitted on an object. These locks can also be applied on individual X, Y or Z axis.
- Gestures: When in this mode the application detects mouse/single touch as gestures and sends them to the engine, which, in turn, detects any predefined gestures based on actions defined in the scenes created by the WASP3D Drone Designer application. If a match is found then those action(s) are performed.There is a special type of action which defines that certain gestures on certain nodes will navigate back to the Comb Builder based addin. The user can than perform a custom action on this action, like changing the viewing angle of the entire scene or get some data from a database and update the user interface.
